Friedr Dick Premier Competition Chef Knife 9 Inch Blade This instant

A decade or so ago I purchased a whole flock of F. Dick knives as I went into culinary school. Without a doubt that was probably one of the best investments I EVER made! Hands down. F. Dick markets to culinary students & schools for two very good reasons: 1) They then don't need to spend a fortune in advertising, trying to get housewives & wannabees to buy their knives...just to show off the new toy to their friends & neighbours. (Or brag about how much they spent.) 2) They're darn near bullet-proof...and thus perfect for students, working chefs or home users that aren't going to sharpen their knives every couple months.

I purchased my "regular" 9" before I had seen the Competition Knife...and being a student had to go without.

Well, seeing as I've have NOTHING but high praise for their knives I decided to finally get the competition knife. Have I used it in a competition..? No... But, along with being another OUTSTANDING F. Dick knife it really is a very cool conversation piece. My wife & I have a lot of "foody" friends and this still is the most popular piece of equipment that we have in out kitchen...and we have a LOT O' TOYS in our well stocked kitchen. It seems that everybody want to test their skills with it. ROFL (And it's still less than some of the advertised brands...)

Oh, and for the record... Nobody, and I mean NOBODY makes a steel as good as F. Dick. Go ahead, do a search or better yet ask somebody that knows what they're talking about. They're worth their weight in gold!

CulinHome Decor Collection 8-Inch Splash Chef's Knife

The blade has the ugly Splash pattern of etched overlapping circles. The handle works for slicing but is awkward for choking up on the blade for chopping. Sharp Surgical grade steel blade tapers toward the point from a good medium width. I bought 5 with over 70% discount, 4 for 3, and free shipping for Scout Camp Kitchen. It will do. Cheap Mundial 10-Inch Cook's Knife with Wide Blade, Black

I got this knife for my nephew who is in his last semester of culinary school. He saw it feature at the Bon Appetit Magazine recently and while he like it and says it works great, he was not expecting it to be so big. Like it says, the blade is 10" but the handle adds another 6"- 7". It looks like a machete.
The box it came in was also huge. I will be happy the day amazon do a better job boxing stuff in better packaging instead of sending single items in outreageusly big boxes, full of air bags or extra brown paper.Get more detail about Mundial 10-Inch Cook's Knife with Wide Blade, Black.

Shop For Victorinox 8-Inch Chef's Knife, Black Fibrox Handle

I bought this knife because it is highly recommended by America's Test Kitchen. It is very sharp, and light weight, dishwasher safe, and is a great value. I don't like it as well as my Wusthoff Grand Prix 8" chef's knife. However, if you can't afford the Wusthoff, this is a good fall back. I also gave one of these to my daughter... she really likes it and it is a great improvement over the other chef's knife and santoku knife that she owns.Get more detail about Victorinox 8-Inch Chef's Knife, Black Fibrox Handle.
